Haydee's 1st birthday

andd I'm back..3 months later..

My fatty's birthday was last month and I've been wanting to write about it since I worked SO hard on it!
My lovely father was nice enough to offer to pay for the whole thing. He gave me a budget and I stuck to it. I only had like 3 months to plan this. Good this was that I had already been "pinning" party ideas on pinterest so I knew what theme I wanted; Circus / Carnival. A traditional and fun party theme.

First things first..since I was on a budget I wanted to do this right and not go over. I started my lists (which I love to do), writing down all the stuff I wanted in the party.
Concession stands: cotton candy, popcorn, snow cone
Bounce house
Ticket booth
Candy station
Cute backdrop
Carnival games
and obviously the perfect cake!

I can make this post supper long and go on and on about me making my lists more detailed but I decided to spare you and skip it..

After doing ALL my research I went with Oriental Trading which had SOO many cute things and it went perfect with my theme. Thats where I mostly bought my stuff, some of the other things were from Walmart and Party City.

Project #1
Ticket booth! - This was an absolute necessity!
We went to Home Depot and got some wood..cheap wood of course..which did not work out and had to go back and get some moree wood. Sometimes its not always smart to go the cheap route..but like my dad says, Im a cheapo!

Well we (as in, my dad) cut the wood and I began to paint it. Using the easier route, we decided to get spray paint instead of regular paint. Primer..let it dry..spray..let it dry..spray again..and let it dry again.
All this "letting it dry" took place in the backyard of my dads house. Me not using my noggin didnt realize to bring the wood back inside the house and it got "warped"...whatever that means..
I just know it was a mission to screw all the pieces together. Thankfully, my dad and his best friend are some what handy.

Detailed plans for the ticket booth

Project #2
Backdrop FOR the candy / cake table - This was also a necessity!
Went online to one of my favorite things..Google.. and searched for pvc backdrop. It had great directions..so, I followed it. The next thing to do was find what I wanted to use as the actual backdrop. I thought of getting a plain yellow background (a shower curtain, easy to put through the pvc pipes) with a cute colorful pendant banner...but that didnt happen..
My aunt, whom I call Tria, had just bought a circus themed window curtain...it couldnt have been more perfect!

Project #3
Candy / Cake table - ..you guessed it!..this was also a necessity. How can it not, a party NEEDS a cake, and candy is a great bonus.
I was a bit annoying for this, I admit. The table needed to be a certain size. I started off wanting like 20 different candys..then down to 8..then down to 4..then back up to 6..and only used 5. The bowls needed to be glass and in all different shapes and sizes. The table cloth needed to be polka dot, and not just any polka dot, the RIGHT polka dot! Im sure you get the picture..

Moving on to the day of the party..
We were starting to set up and it started raining..correction, it started pouring!
We were already running late and Mother Nature decided to rain on our parade..(you see what I did there? lol) I couldnt help set up because the birthday girl didnt want to take a nap (of course) and was starting to get cranky.

I wanted to cancel the party...seriously, I asked my mom and sister multiple times to see if it was possible.

By the time I got Haydee and myself ready and back to the park it stopped raining and everyone was there. We made a grand entrance. After saying hi to everyone I went straight to my beautifully done backdrop to take pictures with Haydee in her gorgeous tutu birthday outfit (before she would want it taken off). She was ready for a nap shortly after and when she woke it was time to cut the cake! Everything turned out great, and most importantly my little Haydee Rose had a good time (napping for most of the party..)

Posted a few pictures at the bottom from the party that my lovely Photographer friend, Naike took for me. This is her website: N & M Photography

Keys Life

Who doesnt just LOVE the Florida Keys

My aunt and uncle used to have a house in Executive Bay Club. We all have a lot of memories there. Ashley, my cousin, decided to rent out a house there for her birthday so obviously we joined her.
Plus it was my fattys first time at the keys!

Well anyways, we had lots of fun! At first it was just us and Ashley with her son ferny. He is a total little fisherman!

Then my sister came down with Branden and Brittany, my other two cousins. We hadnt seen Britt in a longgg time since she goes to school in Tallahassee, so we were excited.

Tiff (my sister), my fatty, and Britt (soon-to-be-Godmother)

There was alot of "first's" in this trip..

First time on a swing.

First time on the beach/sand.

First time eating a strawberry popsicle.. lol

We all went to Robbys to feed the tarpons. It was soo cool. We used to do this when we were younger but for some reason I thought this time was way cooler. Maybe I never actually fed them when I was little becuase I was scared lol

Then of course we relaxed in the pool..

I Love this picture. They dont look great in it, but I love when they spend "daddy-daughter time"

Unitl next time,

Fathers Day

late as usual..

Fathers day was a few weeks ago and we decided to go to Rapids Water Park for the day becuase they were doing a promotional event where fathers get in free. We went with Jeremy's side of the family which was awesome because we hardly see them. Jeremy DID have to pay though. Apparently you needed to pay for your child's ticket and since Haydee did not need to pay, he had to. SUCKED! That right there was basically $100 down the drain. I promised jeremy that I wasnt going to stress about the money and just have fun.

Good thing there was someone in the group that also had a baby. She was a week younger then my fatty. We hung out by the wave pool for a bit then went to the kiddie section where there was a floating alligator, hippo and a giant crab.

WATCH YOUR CHILDREN! Although there was like 4 life guards around the area, there was a little boy basically drowning! I saved his life of course =] I found his parents and they didnt even thank me! RUDE...some people really shouldnt have kids.

I was planning on hanging out on the lazy river the whole time but Haydee wasnt having it. She was extremely fussy and wanted to nap now! I tried breastfeeding her on the tube (yes, I breastfeed anywhere) so she can fall asleep, but it wasnt working. There were waterfalls throughout the "river" that were wetting her and she was getting pissed.

While everyone else went on riding rides I hung out on the lounge chairs putting my fatty to sleep. She was knocked out for TWO hours! That NEVER happens! I took advantage and tanned for a few, then Jeremy's grandma and aunt were nice enough to watch the baby so I can have some fun myself.

After running around for a few we were all tired. We hung out in the kiddie pool again for a bit and Jeremy finally took some pictures with Haydee.

Although I did not hang out with MY dad on fathers day I had a fun time. HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD! I LOVE you more then you think!

and
HAPPY FIRST FATHERS DAY TO THE BEST BOYFRIEND!

Yummy in your babies tummy!

About a month ago I made some homemade baby food for my fatty. With the help of my mom of course..I dont know what I'd do without her. Well, we went to the supermarket and decided to mix a bunch of things together and came up with green beans, carrots, squash, sweet potato and turkey. I also wanted her to try some new things that dont come in store bought baby foods. So I ended up buying some asparagus and spinach (made them by themselves and she LOVED them both).

FIRST HOMEMADE MEAL:
To start we cleaned and peeled the carrots, squash and beans. Me and my mom were actually quite confused about the green beans and what to do with them. Thank goodness for Google! I quickly did a search and found out you just snap off the ends.

So we cut the carrots and squash into chunks and put them in the steamer for 15min with the green beans. While that was steaming, we cleaned and peeled the sweet potato. Then we got a pot with water and added the sweet potato, a piece of green pepper, onion and some garlic and waited for it to boil. After a few minutes I stuck in the turkey breasts cut into chunks.

After everything was done steaming and boiling, it was time to puree. Leaving out the green pepper, onion and garlic..that was just to add some more yummyness. Since it ends up bieng pretty chunky I added some breast milk making it EXTRA healthy! By the way, I bought one of those stick hand mixers and it worked great! I didnt think it was going to be able to blend all of it, but it certainly did, and it was pretty fun using it.

She loved it of course..shes a true fatty! =]

Let me tell you that this baby food actually SMEELED like food! Not like the store bought baby food that smells like nothing. Its fresh and way more healthy. I will say that it does take some effort to make, but its way worth it. Its not just buy, open and feed. It can be though, once you make a batch and store it into tiny jars.

I did some research before making this and found important fruits and vegetables your babies should be eating..from what I found I noticed 5 out of the 19 (thats alot!) vegetables are actually in the store bought foods.

Some of the better foods that are not in store bought foods are: Asparagus, broccoli, beets, cauliflower, cucumber, eggplant, parsnips, spinach, zucchini, avocado, cantaloupe, papaya, cranberries, cherries, grapes.

Once your done making the food, add some of it into jars that will last a couple of days. Add the rest in ice cube trays until frozen then transfer into freezer bags for easy grabbing. Each cube is about 1 oz.
Happy cooking!

Until next time,

Memorial Day Weekend

Of course I'm late on my second blog..

Well, memorial weekend just passed and it was Haydee's first time in the pool! We all went to my aunts house and ate ALOT of food..We might as well be Italians becuase every time we go over there it ends up being a feast!

Its pretty usual for it to rain here on memorial weekend but, the sun was shining and there was no signs of clouds..yet. So off went the clothes and on went the bathing suit, that looked oh' so cute on my fatty! Bathed her in sun block, blew up the floaty and we were ready to go.

how cute does she look here!!?

She was a bit confused at first. But it might have been all the people starring, screaming and clapping their hands at her...we got a little excited. But once she got comfortable with the help of ferny, my little cousin, twirling her around n around. She eventually started splashing and kicking her little feet underwater.

After almost ripping off my bathing suit top like a 'hungry hungry hippo' it was time for a break. We changed and fed her, then it was time for a nap. Trying to take advantage, I decide to get some sun since I'm as white as a piece of paper..
..seriously look how white.

Well, that didnt last to long considering there was a water balloon fight going on and an uncle eager to soak me. Then it started to rain and fatty woke up after her usual short cat nap of less then 30min so I was out of luck.

Until next time,

A Quick Blast From The Past

This is just some quick info about how it all started.
Not so much in detail because then we’d be here foorrever!

2/9/11 was when I found out I was pregnant. Those two blue lines were there in seconds! Even though I was only 21 and had a bf of only (almost) 2 years, I was still pretty happy. My family..not so much, atleast at first they werent. My pregnancy was awesome! I had no sickness, which was great. Hardly no cravings, no swolleness, no nothing, it was like I wasn’t even pregnant. Sometimes I thought it was kind of well,..booring. I WANTED the symptoms to happen!

On October 3, 2011 labor came around and also went great! Got my epi as SOON as I can and didnt feel not one thing! After 1hr and some minutes pushing Haydee Rose decided to make her grand entrance.

Like any mother would say, "She was the most beautiful thing on this earth!" but, I can honestly say (now) that she did look a little bit like an alien..for atleast the first month. NOW, she is the most GORGEOUS thing on this earth! Dont you agree?!

My fatty (my usual nickname for her), is almost 8 months now and is definitely a handful! She likes to be held (standing of course!) and has MAJOR mommities! But what mom doesnt love that, I surely do. She is still mainly breastfed (with 6 teeth!..OUCH!). She has a little bit of solid foods. She does NOT take a bottle or a paci so its pretty hard soothing her when shes mad. Keeping an eye or two (or three) on her is a must because shes got her "scooting" crawl down pact! And shes fast!

Yes, Im one of those moms that STILL sleeps with her baby. I know how much people say that its horrible / dangerous and what not but, I love it and it works GREAT for me. And honestly, I dont care what people tell me. My method: nod, smile and ignore. Roll your eyes all you want! (no offense mom, love ya!)

Well, thats pretty much it for now. Hope you enjoyed my first blog ever! Ill try writing every now and then..hopefully I dont forget. =]
